Couples Therapy

The Gottman Method is an approach to Couples Therapy that includes a thorough assessment of your relationship, and integrates interventions based on forty years of research that shows us what actually works to help partners increase connection, communication and intimacy.

“Within the worst relational conflicts lie the greatest opportunities for growth and intimacy." -John Gottman

Gottman Therapy Begins with the

Assessment Phase.

The assessment phase involves 5 parts:

Couple Narrative 80-Min: During the Couple Narrative, I will meet with you both to explore your concerns, gather a history of the relationship, observe your management of conflict, and provide a basic introduction to Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Individual Interviews (50min Each): I will meet with each partner individually to gather their personal histories and explore their hopes and concerns about the therapy process.

Relationship Questionnaire (At Home): Each partner is provided access to complete an online assessment “Relationship Checkup” that measures various aspects of the relationship’s well-being. The assessment will be analyzed and integrated into the treatment plan.

Goals and Feedback 80min: I will meet with you both to discuss the results of the “Relationship Checkup” and my observations. Together we will discuss treatment goals and develop a plan, in addition I will offer exercises for you both to do at home together.

The Assessment takes place on one day or spread out over 2-3 weeks. Cost for Assessment Parts 1-5: $950
